The man behind the curtain, our Machiavellic villain that uses everyone and everything as pawns to achieve his end game result. He is a few thousand years old, he's been around since the first incarnation of the planet. A member of the scientific group that was founded by Wingless, he witnessed the birth of The Harbinger and The Anchorites. However, he disagreed with their application, and thought that they should be used for other means. Eventually, and schism between the group occurred, and a failed coup attempt left him and the others banished into exile. Now, his insidious plot has been placed into motion. His plan is to drive Vance to the brink of his mental stability to convince him to unleash The Harbinger, where he can then become one with it and become a God. For thousands of years, he's been waiting for one of Vance's past incarnations to be ready for his plan, and that time has finally come.
a)He has seen the massive atrocities the many creatures of the planet have committed. Unlike The Lunatic, he feels that control is the answer.
b)With ultimate control, he feels that peace can finally be achieved.
c)He is the classic chess master trope, he completely pulls everyone's strings, and sets all the dominos in motion.
d)His greatest virtue is patience. He has unlimited patience, and knows that all he needs is time.
e)Through both his own actions and his use of The Lunatic, he sets the stages for the heroes to destroy themselves, which is what he needs.
f)He cannot force Vance to unleash The Harbinger, it has to be willingly. While others have clearly done so to stop The Cataclysm and reincarnate the planet, he could not assimilate with them Harbinger because again, the host most be willing.
